What SEO costs in Bulgaria
What people actually pay for SEO here, what you get at each tier, and how to work out whether the number makes sense for your business.
SEO in Bulgaria runs between €150 and €2,000 a month, with meaningful work starting around €250. The difference is not the quality of the practitioner. It is the number of hours anyone actually spends on your project.
The three tiers
Under €150/month. At this price a vendor can spend two or three hours a month. That covers an automated report and a few small edits. It does not cover analysis, content or technical work. If you get a PDF every month and nothing on the site changes, this is the tier you are on.
€250 to €800/month. Here one consultant or a small team can put in 8 to 20 hours a month. This is where real work happens: technical fixes, reworked category pages, content to a plan, and someone actually watching the data.
Above €800/month. Teams, content at volume, active link building. Worth it with a large catalogue or in a competitive niche where you need constant output.
The arithmetic is simple: divide the monthly fee by a consultant's hourly rate (€30-60). That is the ceiling on the hours anyone can give you. Everything else is marketing.
What you are paying for
- Technical audit and fixes: once at the start, then maintenance.
- Keywords and structure: which pages serve which searches, and where pages are missing.
- Content: category and product copy, articles.
- Links: the slowest and most expensive part, and the one most often faked.
- Reporting and analysis: what moved and what comes next.
My packages start at €499/month, month to month. No 12-month contract, because long contracts protect the vendor rather than the client. See the full breakdown
How to check whether it pays
Take your average order value and your margin. At €60 average order and 40% margin, each order is worth €24 to you. To justify €500 a month you need about 21 extra orders monthly. If that is realistic at your search volume, SEO makes sense. If it is not, I will say so before we start.
For service businesses the maths is easier, because a single client often covers several months of fee. A law firm, dentist or repair shop usually breaks even by month two or three, provided local demand exists.
When the price is a red flag
- A guaranteed first position for a fixed fee. Nobody controls Google.
- A cheap 'X links per month' package. That is almost always a PBN.
- A price with no scope. If it does not say hours or activities, you cannot compare it.
- A discount for a long contract before anything has been shown.
Frequently asked questions
- What does SEO cost per month in Bulgaria?
- Meaningful monthly work starts around €250. Below €150 you are usually buying a report rather than hours. My packages start at €499/month.
- Is there a one-off SEO service?
- Yes, a technical audit is a one-off and is often the best place to start. Ranking itself needs ongoing work, because your competitors are working too.
- Why do prices vary so much?
- Because they sell different amounts of time. Scope, not quality, explains most of the gap between €150 and €1,500.
- Can I pay on results?
- Rarely, and usually not in your interest. Payment on results rewards short-term tactics, and those put your domain at risk.
